NORTH STATE TELCO CREDIT UNION
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

North State Telco Credit Union will award college scholarship(s) for the 2009-2010 academic year. Applications will be available October 1, 2009. Entries must be postmarked or received by the Credit Union by January 29, 2010 Winners will be notified by March 10, 2010 and the scholarship presentation will be at our annual meeting March 16, 2010.

Two winners!!! Each will receive a $1500 scholarship

One graduating High School Senior & One currently enrolled college student

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors will be enrolling in an undergraduate course of study during the 2010-2011 school year at an accredited two year or four year college, university or vocational-technical school.
  • Currently enrolled in a two year or four year college, university or vocational-technical school.
  • Parent, legal guardian or applicant must be a member in good standing of the credit union.
  • High School GPA Minimum of 3.0 or College GPA Minimum of 3.0

Selection Criteria:
The Royster M. Tucker, Jr., Memorial Scholarship Committee will use the following criteria to choose the scholarship recipients:

  1. Academic excellence and grade point average
  2. Leadership ability as exhibited in extracurricular activities, school activities and community involvement
  3. Essay
  4. Financial Need

How to Apply:

  1. Submit completed application (download application here)
  2. Mail or deliver the application to the credit union in a sealed envelope along with your transcript, essay and letters of recommendation by January 29, 2010

Scholarship funds will be made payable to the school on behalf of the winner(s). Recipient's will be notified via telephone or mail by March 10, 2010.  Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result in the disqualification of the entry.  Mail or deliver entries to:

Our scholarship committee will consist of three NC Credit Union Executives, totally independent of North State Telco Credit Union. Funding for the scholarship program comes from donations and fundraisers.
